Using ARIS to Build Mobile-Device Games that Enhance Learning
ARIS stands for Augmented Reality for Interactive Storytelling. It is a free and open source app that educators across the country, including the Library of Congress and the Minnesota historical Society, are beginning to use in a variety of educational contexts to create learning opportunities that make rich use of mobile media and local surroundings. Here at UNM it has been used to create Spanish curricula and as a research and design tool. This hands-on workshop will be an introduction to using ARIS to develop your own innovative, place-cognizant content for students. Laptops and iOS devices are encouraged but not necessary.
