Affiliated Institutions

The Department of Political Science houses the Institute for Public Policy and Survey Research Center, which conducts applied and theoretical research, including surveys of public opinion and political behavior.

The department also enjoys research and teaching ties with Los Alamos and Sandia National Laboratories and affiliations with three interdisciplinary on-campus research institutes: the Latin American & Iberian Institute, the Southwest Hispanic Research Institute, and the Center for Regional Studies.

The UNM General Library system holds over 2 million volumes. The main library, Zimmerman Library, and the William J. Parish Business and Economics Library, offer important research and information resources for students and faculty in the Department of Political Science.
