The Planning Office is a new position at the UNM Physical
Plant. This Office will oversee the following tasks:
- Keep current our
assessment of the condition of the campus built-environment.
- Identify and prioritize
minor and major capital facility projects highlighting conditions in
existing facilities that compromise the effective and efficient delivery
of support, academic and research programs.
- Identify and scope
"whole building renewal projects" that address significant
pockets of deferred capital renewal. Program the modernization of spaces
in a sequence and at a tempo that complements the University's Capital
Development plan.
- Conduct annual
assessment of progress in sustaining the existing capital portfolio.
- Implement a "Strategic
Assessment Model" that benchmarks UNM facility renewal and plant
sustainment efforts against national and peer institution levels of
success.
- Program recurring
BR&R accounts in a manner that complements "whole-building"
renewal plans and capital facility replacement projects.
