Brief History of Our Chapter

Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Chapter at UNM was last active in the 2004-2005 school year. We are recently rechartered in the 2008-2009 school year and are currently working on revitalization in the 2009-2010 school year.

This year we will be focused on professional development, service to the school, service the student, and service to our community.

Mock Trial Program: two years of continuous success

November 4-6, 2003, Washington, DC - Four members from the our chapter attended the Annual International Phi Alpha Delta Conference. Not only did we get to attend great workshops and seminars, such as as Personal Statement and Career Advice, met with Supreme Court Justice, and had an opportunity to meet with and learn from other pre-law chapters around the country but we also participated in the Mock Trial Competition. This was the second year that we sent a team to the international conference. This is also the second year that our team walked away with several awards. Heather Massoth, BA Psychology, received a nomination for the best defense attorney. The team placed forth in the overall competition (out of the total of fourteen participants) and also received an award for the best defense team. Athena Spencer founded the mock trial program of the chapter and served as its committee chair for two years. Pictures from the Conference
