Rabbi Chama ben Rabbi Chanina said: What is the meaning of the verse: "You shall walk after the Lord your God? [Deut. 4:24]?... It means the following: Just as He clothes the naked, as it is written, "God made for Adam and his wife coats of skins and clothed them" [Genesis 4:21] , so you should clothe the naked. Just as God visited the sick, as it is written, "God appeared to him in Alonei Mamreh" [Genesis 18:1], so you also should visit the sick. God comforted the mourner, as it is written, "After the death of Abraham God blessed his son Isaac" [from Genesis 25:11], so you too should comfort the mourner. God buried the dead, as it is written, "He buried him in the valley" [Deut. 34:6], so you too should bury the dead.
