• History of metaphysics in India
• Buddhist psychology and Jungian analytic psychology
• Sanskrit grammar and Indian philosophies of language

Activities

• Subject editor for Indian and Tibetan philosophy and author of five entries for the Routledge Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
• Consulting editor for Buddhism for the revised second edition Macmillan Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
• Subject editor author of the Indian Buddhism section in the RoutledgeCurzon Encyclopedia of Buddhism. (Published in March 2007)
• Currently working on a translation of parts of Dharmakīrti's Pramāṇavārttika.
• Founder of an e-mail discussion group for the academic discussion of Buddhism called buddha-l. (For more information, click here.)
