Hello, I am...I try to remain as low a profile in this project as possible, however I've a few notes to explain what is happening. First of all, I digitized (if you will) Volume I of the Kroth Loughmiller Memoirs. When I did that project I duplicated the book page by page. I felt that it would help reflect the charm and the work of the original.
- Milton George Kroth, December 11, 1903.
(Hazel Marie Bender, March 6, 1902.)
Married September 7, 1926.
- Roger Lee Kroth, October 10, 1927.
(Jane Majors, March 21, 1930.)
Married June 4, 1951.
- Mike Stephen Kroth, September 1, 1952.
- Marianne Kroth, January 21, 1954.
- David Scott Kroth, October 8, 1956.
- Amy Jane Kroth, July 18, 1958.
Fine.
With the Volume II, I realized that the geneology stuff would be looked over by many people, typically archivists of some kind. They want to search for specifics. And I wanted to help. So I didn't do it page by page. I tried to logically keep groups together. So many type written pages are only one on this project. Be Careful Printing! If you are viewing this in a browser like netscape or MSIE,under the edit tab is a find tab...
Type in a name (or date) and it will jump to that specific.
Also, if you happen to be viewing this on disk (from my Dad, probably) the link back to his homepage will not work.
Good luck.
The other note from me is that the book I was scanning had margin notes by my grandmother, Hazel Bender Kroth. She was updating the book as she got new information.
My problem was - what if I read the info wrong? What if I couldn't tell which line went with which date? And I didn't want to ignore the information. So I made a decision.....I would include the info but change the color so you would know I added the material.
Fair enough?
I hope so. I imagine I've made lots of mistakes in the project. The Character Recognition software often finds 1941 to be ig4i. You get used to looking for it, the book is a little old and the type is small.
Anyways, it was a fun project. I laughed at the mention of "electronic 'brain' machines" in the miscellaneous page.
I hope you enjoy looking it over as much as I did making it!
Cheers!
