John Loughmiller, Sr., son of John Loughmiller and Sabina Shaw Loughmiller, was married to his wife Jane in 1806. Jane was born March 30, 1788, and died May 16, 1850. John was a carpenter, and also belonged to the East Tennessee Militia, joining in 1814. He also bought land in Floyd County Indiana in 1832. Their family were:

Jacob Loughmiller married Aurelia Overton Loughmiller, August 17, 1837.
William Loughmiller, June 25, 1810--January 16, 1880. He married Charity McCracken Loughmiller, July 15, 1835. Charity died and William married Sara J. Morris.
Frederick Loughmiller, born March 30, 1812, left Indiana with his wife Julia, and settled in Texas.
Sabina Loughmiller. August 15, 1813--January 17, 1840, Married George Thompson, August 20, 1833.
Joseph Lawrence Loughmiller, January 18, 1815--March 2, 1883. His wife Ellen Corinna Overton Loughmiller died July 16, 1851. Joseph married Lucinda Catharine May on August 26, 1852.J
James Gallagher Loughmiller, November 26, 1816--August 14, 1821.
Isaac Anderson Loughmiller, November 26, 1818--June 19, 1843. He married Elizabeth Littell, January 3, 1843.
Alexander Rogers Loughmiller, July 3, 1820--July 6, 1888. he married Nancy E. Gragg Loughmiller, July 12, 1849.
Elizabeth Ellen Loughmiller, May 20, 1822--August 1, 1838.
Matilda Forgy Loughmiller, April 3. 1824--July 21, 1851. Married Levi D. Martin on June 6, 1846.
George Maxwell Loughmiller, June 12, 1826--June 20, 1887. Married Elmira A. Johnson, November 29, 1849.
Sara Lyons Loughniller, January 10, 1829--March 2, 1894. Married Reason Fowler, December 4, 1848.
