Dariusz Korcz, viola soloist in the Robb concerto, studied at the Academy of Music in Katowice, Poland. In his professional life he has been the Principal Violist with the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, as well as former Principal Violist with the Polnische Kammerphilharmonie and the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra in Reykjavik. He is Professor of Viola and ChamCaber Music at the Academy of Music in Katowice, and has coached and taught violists at the International Youth Orchestras in Germany and the United States.

In 1985 Dariusz Korcz was the first prize winner of the Rakowski Viola Competition. Since then he has premiered compositions by Shostakovitch, Penderecki, Lutoslawski Gorecki and Messiaen, and has had extensive solo and chamber music experience throughout the world, including many recordings for European and American recording companies.

Mr. Korcz has also achieved a distinguished reputation as a maker of find violins and violas.
