About the Program

AFROTC offers 2, 3, and 4-year programs for students at the University of New Mexico. The program is divided into the General Military Course and Professional Officer Course. Every semester, students will partake in both the Aerospace Studies Course and the Leadership Laboratory. The summer at the halfpoint of the student's program will consist of Field Training, which takes place in Maxwell AFB, AL for four weeks. FT designed to further test and develop candidates along with providing a firsthand look into the USAF environment. It is necessary in order to gain entrance into the POC corps. Upon graduation and commissioning, Non-Pilot commissionees will serve a 4 year commitment, Combat System Operators 6 years after training, and Pilots/RPA will serve 10 years after training.
