Lieutenant Colonel Fred E. Garcia

Lieutenant Colonel Fred Garcia is the Commander of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Detachment 510, University of New Mexico (Albuquerque, New Mexico). Detachment 510 is dedicated to the mission of developing quality leaders for the Air Force to “Fly, Fight, and Win.” In June 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Garcia joined Detachment 510 as Commander and Professor of Aerospace Studies. He is a native of Colorado and received his commission through the Air Force ROTC program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL in 1997. He has served in a variety of assignments including Acquisition Scientist & Engineering officer Career Field Management and assignments, strategic communications and operations analysis, nuclear detonation detection and weapons effects, satellite nuclear alert, mechanical engineering design and production, and acquisitions program management including logistics and engineering acquisition professional development.
