Best Case Scenarios

"What will happen in the worst-case?" This was a useful phrase during early explorations at WIPP. This hypothetical question was a guide for the kinds of geologic problems we were looking for and trying to avoid. No one ever said something like "this will probably be OK if we use a best-case scenario." In this section I present several examples of how assumptions about WIPP geology and hydrology and human behavior have been changed to the "best case" in order to further the mission of WIPP. I have deliberately avoided using the names of scientists and colleagues. If the reader is interested in the reports and the names they can generally be found by making inquiries at associated Web sites.
