Unless otherwise stated, all screening for minimum qualifications
is done strictly from the Bernalillo County application submitted.
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general direction, is responsible for the development and delivery
of geographic information in the form of digital and/or hardcopy data to
the public and other County departments.
1. Bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, surveying, engineer-
ing, planning, cartography, photogrammetry, or related field. GIS
related work experience may be substituted for formal education on a
two (2) years experience for one (1) year education basis. Experience
so substituted cannot be used to meet the required experience
specified in 2 below.
2. Three (3) years of experience in geographic information systems, the
majority of which should have been with Arc/Info or similar software.
3. Working knowledge of the Arc/Info data model and concepts.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of computerized data compilation and conversion
techniques, and graphic presentation and production techniques.
5. Demonstrated ability to direct and participate in the analysis,
development, implementation and support of large scale projects,
including geographic information systems.
6. Ability to interact professionally with the public, management, and
co-workers.
7. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in written and oral
form.
8. Knowledge and understanding of networked workstation Unix environment,
including familiarity with the Unix operating system.
The offer of this Bernalillo County position requires compliance with the
