VISITING FACULTY POSITION IN PLANNING
UNIVERSITY of NEW MEXICO SCHOOL OF
ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING COMMUNITY
AND REGIONAL PLANNING PROGRAM The
Community and Regional Planning Program of the University
of New Mexico School of Architecture and Planning is
seeking a faculty member for a one year visiting appointment
for the 1998/ 99 school year. Upon satisfactory progress,
the visiting position may be renewed for a second year,
during which time a search will be initiated for a tenure track
position. The Program, which offers a masters degree in
Community and Regional Planning, has a long-standing
commitment to progressive planning and community based
planning education. Applications will be considered at the
Assistant or Associate Professor level. Salary is negotiable
depending on experience. Candidates will be expected to
teach a full load of courses, provide advisement and
mentorship to students, offer special seminars and participate
in responsibilities of collective governance of the Community
and Regional Planning Program. Minimum requirements
include: A Masters degree in Planning or a related field
Demonstrated excellence in professional or scholarly
practice of economic analysis in planning Demonstrated
excellence in professional or scholarly practice of economic
development technique. Preference wil be given to
candidates with teaching expertise and/or professional
experience in one or more of of the following areas:
community based economic development approaches;
agricultural economics; Latin American planning; land use
and land development; micro-economics; and/or quantitative
methods; and/or GIS. Please send a letter of application,
