Wakatobi Trip 2007
Dive Resort is far southeast Sulawesi ..The diversity of young fish, corals and sponges was amazing. The absence of sharks and dolphins noteworthy. Lorenz, the owner of the resort on Onemobaa Island (next to Tomia) is trying to teach people in the area about marine conservation and sustainable development. A long long trip via Singapore and Bali (it's 17 hours to Singapore from LA, then 3 to Bali and then 3 or four on a prop plane to Tomea then a short boat ride). With the help of people here, I decided to buy a point and shoot Canon G7 and the dive shop, Sandia Snorkel and Scuba, loaned me a strobe which I used some of the time. Learned a lot ...and saw what good photos should look like, but I had fun taking these.
