College of Blaiddwyn

Welcome!

We are the local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism for the University of New Mexico

The SCA (or "the Society") is a non-profit organization devoted to researching and recreating the Middle Ages in the present day.  Some members concentrate on the study of the European Middle Ages and Renaissance eras, with many members working to recreate the arts and skills of these eras. Other members concentrate on the study of Middle East and Asian Cultures, with many members working to recreate the arts and skills of their chosen areas and also explore the interaction between Europe and Asia during the periods under study.

Membership in the Society is available from their website (sca.org/membership) and requires annual dues.  Affiliation with the College of Blaiddwyn for existing members of the SCA is open to students, staff, and faculty of the UNM.  Membership in the student club is open to anyone who is interested in learning about and recreating the European Middle Ages, and requires no dues.  Learn about the activities our members undertake here.

The College of Blaiddwyn is part of the Barony of al-Barran (Bernalillio, Sandoval, and Valencia counties) and the Kingdom of the Outlands (Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, and El Paso, Texas).  Learn more about the other chapters in the area here.
