There are literally hundreds of interesting and useful financial sites on the Web. Some of the more interesting sites are provided below: Award Winning Site of the Ohio State University Finance Department. Among the notable attractions are the Financial Data Finder, the Virtual Finance Library, the Worldwide Finance Directory, and the Business Job Finder. You may wish to create a bookmark when you find a link you wish to revisit. Some of my favorite free commerical sites: investorama - Contains a listing of thousands of finance links indexed by category. See the investor's web directory. cnnfn - A good summary source of the day's business news. The markets page shows the current day's movement in the Dow, the NASDAQ, and the S&P 500 in chart format. Also provided are free quotes and charts. moneyinsider - A rich source of a variety of personal finance information. You may wish to check out the retirement calculators or examine local mortgage rates for possible refinancing. smartmoney - Similar to moneyinsider. bigcharts - A more refined charting site than cnnfn containing the ability to include numerous technical indicators. aaii - The home page of the American Association of Individual Investors. If you trade individual stocks, you may consider joining this association. Numerous articles and tutorials are available online. You might also wish to visit some home pages and favorite links of other finance professors. Listed below are several of my favorites. A more complete listing is available within the Ohio State Worldwide Finance Directory. Ted Boss - Contains a voluminous listing of links across numerous financial and miscellaneous topics. Aswath Damodaran - A good source of downloadable spreadsheet applications and data files. Bill Sharpe - Articles, MATLAB files, JavaScript applications, data. course outlines, and more.
