Offered With Guidelines

  • The inter-departmental (Offered With) classroom option is designed to offer an interim classroom alternative.  This alternative allows different academic departments to informally offer similar courses in the same room, at the same time, before pursuing the official Also Offered As (Crosslist) process.
  • All departments offering Offered With courses are required to attend a Offered With in-service, as well as, completing the Offered With form.

  • During the Schedule Build process, Offered With forms will be accepted at three intervals only:

    1. DCL's return
    2. First proofing session
    3. Second proofing session
  • *Offered With courses require identical course information in the following areas:

    1. Section number
    2. Credit hours
    3. Title - 20 characters (topic, seminar and workshop only)
    4. Instructor Information
    5. Course meet time and dates
  • *The designated Home Department will be the responsible party for course updates and revisions for the semester.

  • The Scheduling Office records all inter-departmental (Offered With) course offerings for tracking purposes.

  • *With the successful completion of the second semester as a Offered With course, departments will begin the formal curriculum approved (Crosslist) process.

    1. With the second course offering, a formal notification (via memo) will be sent to the department Scheduling Coordinator. This notification will advise the department that curriculum paperwork should be submitted to create Crosslist.
    2. With the third course offering, a confirmation of in-process paperwork will be required.
    3. No fourth Offered With course offering will be processed.
    4. Possible exceptions to the Offered With guidelines includes Special Topic courses not offered on a regular basis or taught by a visiting instructor.

 * As approved by Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee.
