Restricted: NO RESTRICTIONS CFDA#: OBJECTIVES: EMGIP candidates must be able to fully communicate in German and should be majoring or have majored in fields that relate to the work of the German Landtage. Examples include international relations, public administration, political science, law, economics, European Studies or German with a minor in any of the aforementioned fields. ELIGIBILITY The maximum age for students is thirty. Eligible applicants are undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at U.S. or Canadian colleges or universities. Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian citizens. At least intermediate German skills (oral and written) are required. Candidates must be able and willing to communicate in German and possess a good command of professional vocabulary in their field. Practical experience does not need to be extensive but is required. Applicants must have at least two years of study in a field related to: international relations; public administration; political studies; law; European studies with an emphasis on Germany; or German/German studies (if the applicant has a minor in one of the above fields). FUNDING A limited number of applicants are selected every year. Applicants must submit a $300 administration fee upon acceptance. Stipends will be provided to help offset living expenses during the internship. (The highest-ranking applicants will receive €500/month) The program is one to three months in duration.
