The Latin American & Iberian Institute is now accepting applications for its Fall 2009 Student Field Research Grants. All graduate students who are interested in conducting fieldwork in Latin America or Iberia are encouraged to apply. APPLICATIONS ARE DUE MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2009 BY 5:00PM. Please note this is a change from previous years when applications were due after fall break. Field Research Grants (FRGs) are intended to support graduate research projects requiring a limited time in the field, often four to eight weeks. Typically awards are made for round-trip airfare to the country where the research will be conducted. First time applicants are invited to attend an INFORMATIONAL HELP SESSION scheduled for Monday, September 14, 2009 at 1:00pm in the LAII main office (801 Yale Blvd NE) Application requirements and forms may be found online at the LAII website: http://laii.unm.edu/funding/research-funding/. The application is also here attached, along with an announcement flier. Should students or faculty have any questions regarding FRGs, they may contact me via this email (committees@laii.unm.edu) or by phone at (505)277-7049.
