TITLE: Young Researchers and Trainees Program for Cooperative R&D (Internship/Training Opportunities in Japan) BACKGROUND: The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan and the State of New Mexico, USA signed the Memorandum on Cooperation in the field of Research, Development & Demonstration on May 1, 2009. Both sides agreed that they would promote, through the framework of this Memorandum, the cooperative R&D activities between their respective organizations. OBJECTIVE: The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) of Japan with the cooperation of METI, Japan and the State of New Mexico, USA, will invite young researchers and trainees from the State of New Mexico in order to promote research cooperation between Japan and the United States.
