Restricted: NO RESTRICTIONS CFDA#: OBJECTIVES: Pacific Standard Time Residential Grants support scholars interested in developing the history of postwar art in Los Angeles. Topics should be related to the Getty's research initiative, Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A 1945–1980 and may include projects that investigate movements, artists, and ideas that have yet to receive significant scholarly attention, or those that acknowledge the importance of networks—interpersonal, artistic, institutional—in the development of Southern California's artistic landscape. ELIGIBILITY These grants are for established scholars, writers, independent researchers, or pre- and postdoctoral candidates. FUNDING Senior grantees may be in residence for one of three periods: September 2010 to June 2011, September 2010 to December 2010, or January 2011 to June 2011. A stipend of up to $65,000 for the year will be awarded based on length of stay, need, and salary. Predoctoral grantees are in residence from September 2010 to June 2011 and receive a stipend of $25,000; postdoctoral grantees are in residence from September 2010 to June 2011 and receive a stipend of $30,000. All grantees are provided a workspace at the Getty Research Institute, an apartment in the Getty scholar housing complex, and airfare to and from Los Angeles.
