Transfer Scholarship Programs

 

For New Mexico Residents
Minimum Criteria Requirements

UNM Legislative Endowed Scholarship Program

  • New Mexico Scholarship Transfer Transcript is required; and

  • Demonstrate eligibility for financial aid; and

  • Must be enrolled for at least half-time; and

  • New Mexico resident and a U.S. citizen (permanent or a resident alien); and

  • Have a combined cumulative transfer college grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale); and

  • Have at least 30 hours of credited transfer hours; and

  • Have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA)

  • Preference given to returning or transfer students

Zia Transfer Scholarship

  • Have a combined cumulative transfer college grade point average of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale); and

  • Have at least 30 hours of credited transfer hours; and

  • Have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA)

  • Preference give to undergraduate minority students: Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic, African American and American Indian

UNM Transfer Scholarship

UNM Presidential Branch Transfer

  • Incoming UNM Branch Campus Transfer students who have previous academic and citizenship skills; and

  • Earned GPA at a minimum of 3.5; and

  • Associate degree completion or equivalent; and

  • Leadership potential: include resume, statement of goals and educational philosophy and list of extracurricular activities and awards

The scholarship may be renewed annually for up to two years (four consecutive semesters) provided the student meets requirements of 12 credit hours and a 3.0 GPA each semester. This scholarship is intended for UNM-Main Campus only.

→A complete transfer scholarship application must include the following:

  1. Must have completed a Free Application for Federal Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) for the academic year you are applying for.

  2. Must have applied for admissions to UNM.

  3. Must submit official college transcript(s) to the Transfer Admissions Office (505.277.2439), including your most recent semester completed.



DEADLINES
For students entering the Fall 2009 semester, the deadline is June 1, 2009
For students entering the Spring 2010 semester, the deadline is January 10, 2010
A complete application must be received by the Scholarship Office
no later than 5:00 p.m. on deadline date
