John M. Roberts, Jr. is Associate Professor of Sociology and is currently the Department’s Associate Chair and Graduate Advisor. He received a PhD in sociology from Cornell University in 1992, and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Institute for Mathematical Behavioral Sciences, University of California, Irvine, before joining the Department in 1993. Social networks, mathematical sociology, and quantitative methods are his main research interests. He is presently the Social Science Area Representative for the Society for Cross-Cultural Research.
