SGSA is an officially recognized student-led organization that manages sociology graduate student affairs. The association coordinates monthly meetings to discuss department matters and to provide the opportunity for graduate students to express their concerns and ideas about the program. Moreover, SGSA represents the voice of the sociology graduate students to the department and to the greater university administration. The SGSA organizes also coordinates regular social events including fall and spring department parties and regular Friday afternoon happy hours. The fall 2009 SGSA president is Chalane Lechuga. |
