Director of Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media Program

The University of New Mexico invites applications for the Director of the Interdisciplinary Film and Digital Media (IFDM) Program, starting in August 2008. This administrative appointment will come with a tenure-track/tenured academic appointment at the rank of Associate or full Professor in one or more schools or colleges at UNM, depending on the candidate’s qualifications. IFDM is an integrated interdisciplinary academic and research program designed to give students the necessary critical, creative, and technical skills to apply digital technologies in innovative and productive ways. The program links existing strengths at UNM in the College of Fine Arts, School of Engineering, College of Arts & Sciences, Anderson School of Management, and other schools and colleges. It provides students an opportunity to prepare for careers in the converging fields of digital media in science, art, and technology. The interdisciplinary breadth of the curriculum and its focus on critical, creative, technical, and collaborative learning in the curriculum was recognized by Sony Imageworks which named the University of New Mexico a partner in the Imageworks Professional Academic Excellence Program (IPAX). Senior Computer Science Faculty Position

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for one tenured or probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision faculty position at the Associate or Professor level. Candidates should have a well-established and vigorous computer science research program, in an area including but not limited to systems and networks, theory and algorithms, software design and engineering, graphics and visualization, and AI and adaptive systems. We are a strongly interdisciplinary department and are particularly interested in applicants pushing the boundaries of computer science with other fields; preference will be given to candidates in the following fields: bioinformatics and biological computation; embedded systems and sensor networks; scientific computing and simulation; human-computer interaction and social computing; large scale data handling and mining; physics and computing; or game theory and economics.

Computer Science Faculty Positions

The Department of Computer Science invites applications for two probationary faculty appointments leading to a tenure decision at the Assistant Professor level. An appointment at the Associate level may be considered for exceptionally strong candidates. We seek applicants from across computer science, including but not limited to systems and networks, theory and algorithms, software design and engineering, graphics and visualization, and AI and adaptive systems. Instructors, Part-Time

Experienced engineers to teach courses in civil, chemical, electrical, computer, mechanical and nuclear engineering and experienced computer scientists to teach computer science. Minimum qualifications: master's degree in field plus 4 years applicable experience or doctorate in field. Openings dependent on course enrollment and availability of regular faculty. The School of Engineering will accept applications year round.
