2-16-10 -- The three finalists for the dean of the UNM School of Engineering will visit campus in the next two weeks to meet with faculty, staff and students.
Those participating in the campus visits are encouraged to evaluate the candidates, keeping in mind the qualifications and responsibilities of the position (shown on reverse of attached evaluation form - Word document). For additional comments, please attach a separate sheet. Daniel Fleetwood is a professor and chair of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Vanderbilt University, where he also holds an appointment in the Department of Physics. He received his Ph.D. in Solid State Physics, and his M.S. degree in Experimental Physics at Purdue. He served as an associate dean for research at Vanderbilt from 2001-2003. Patrick O'Shea is the chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Center of Applied Electromagnetics. O’Shea is a Distinguished Scholar Teacher with various affiliate appointments and memberships. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Maryland, and served as a project leader at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Curriculum vitae (PDF)

Gregory Washington is interim dean in the School of Engineering at Ohio State University. He was Associate Dean of Research for three years and Interim Director for the Ohio State University Institute for Energy and the Environment for one year. He is a professor of Mechanical Engineering and received his Ph.D. and M.S. at North Carolina State University.
