Dr. Juan de Dios Pineda Guadarrama received a BA, with honors, in Political Science and Public Administration from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, as well as University Merit Medal "Gabino Barreda.”  From the Universidad Anáhuac he received his MA, also with honors, in Public Administration. He has received a Certificate, awarded by The Japan International Cooperation Agency, as an international expert in policies of public transportation. He was the General Academic Coordinator of the 1st and 2nd International Conferences in Political Science in 2001 and 2002 in Mexico. From 2000-2002 he was President of the Board of Directors of the National College of Political Science and Public Administration, an institution of academic excellence in Mexico, accredited by CONACyT.

He has participated as an author, coauthor, or coordinator of more than 20 published works. Among the most recent are 1) Institutions, Public Policy, and Local Governments (2001); 2) Challenges of Political Science in the 21st Century (2002); 3) Contemporary Topics on Public Administration (2002); 4) The New Institutionalism in Mexico (2004); 5) The New Political Science (2004); 6) The Public Management in Latin American (2004); 7) Political Conflict and Negotiation: A General Perspective of Study (2005); 8) The Water Public Policies (2006); 9) The Study of the New Political Science (2006); 10) New Institutionalism and Institutionality in Mexico (2006).

He has presented books and has spoken at seminars and over 50 conferences in countries such as, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, the United States, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru.  In 2007 he received his Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Socio-cultural Studies (LLSS) from the College of Education at the University of New Mexico.  He is the associated editor of the prestigious journal J-PAE “Journal of Public Affairs Education”, produced by The National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, USA, since 2006. He is also member of the Editorial Council of the Journal of Education and Culture AZ.
