If you are staying at the MC Elegante, call the hotel for the shuttle once you arrive at the airport.
Albuquerque is located 5,000 feet above sea level on the northern edge of the Sonoran Desert region. The weather in February is generally cool with very low humidity, typically offering chilly, clear nights and bright, sunny days. Typically, overnight temperatures below freezing and daytime highs in the 50s or 60s.
Please dress in layers. Bring a hat and gloves and your favorite pair of socks.
Conference participants may want to take advantage of a Saturday-night stay over to explore the Land of Enchantment's many cultural offerings and natural wonders. In Albuquerque, such attractions as Old Town, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, and the National Hispanic Cultural Center are within a short taxi ride. A bit further out is a tram that can be taken to the top of Sandia Peak for spectacular views of Albuquerque and the surrounding area. Santa Fe and a number of Indian Pueblos are within easy driving distance as is some of the best skiing in the U.S.(Taos, Santa Fe, Sandia Peak). We especially recommend visits to Santa Fe (1 hour north), Taos (2-1/2 hours north), and Acoma Pueblo (1 hour west) if you haven't yet had the opportunity to visit New Mexico.
