Lina A. Ruiz y Ruiz
Memorial Award

The Lina A. Ruiz y Ruiz Memorial Award is an annual competition
sponsored by the Department of Spanish & Portuguese.
It is a scholarship of $1,600.00 that is awarded to a student at the University of New Mexico who is completing a major in Spanish. The student will be selected by faculty in the department on the basis of academic excellence and financial need.

Eligibility:

• Any student who has declared a first or second major in Spanish,
• and who will be a first- or second-semester junior in fall
  (have earned 64 - 85 credit hours),
• and who has a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Spanish courses taken in the Department.
