PUBLIC INFORMATIONThe UNM Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic is an important part of our mission. Students who are enrolled in our master's degree program develop clinical skills by providing evaluation and treatment for speech and language disorders under the close supervision of certified and licensed professional speech-language pathologists and audiologists. Both the academic and clinical aspects of our graduate program are accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation (CAA) in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). These clinical services are available to the public. Clients at the Center include all age groups, from infants through older adults. All services are provided according to the highest current professional standards. Very modest fees are charged to cover clinic expenses, with especially low rates for UNM students. Several methods of payment are available for clients' convenience. The UNM Speech-Language-Hearing Center adheres to the UNM policy regarding equal opportunity, which forbids unlawful discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, physical or mental disability, age, sex, sexual preference, ancestry, or medical condition. |
