Application Procedures

If you have completed at least 9 hours of SHS coursework, please follow the application procedures below. If you have not completed at least 9 hours of SHS coursework, click on "Degree Programs" and then the "Non-degree Students" link on the left side of the page.

You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader
software in order to read these pdf files. Click on the
button to the left to download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The following items must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies, www.unm.edu/~grad/.

Application for Admission/Residency forms
Non-refundable $50.00 application fee
Two copies of official transcripts from each academic program attended, including coursework from semester preceding application

The items below must be sent to:

Letter of intent addressing career aspirations, reasons for entering the profession, and relevant background, skills, and experience
Three letters of recommendation
Photocopy of GRE scores. Applicants must also arrange for scores to be sent to the University of New Mexico.
One unofficial copy of transcripts
Financial aid forms (Must be completed to be considered for grad assistships, scholarships, etc.)
