SHS 451. Undergraduate Problems (1 - 3 hours, max of 6)
Prerequisites: Permission of instructor

SHS 458/558. Preclinical Training (2 hours)
Includes behavioral objectives, program design, data collection, client/family counseling, ethnographic interviewing with multicultural families, behavioral management, and professional issues including certification and licensure requirements, ethical conduct and federal laws protecting the handicapped.
Prerequisites: SHS 428 or 528, SHS 430 or 530, permission of instructor

SHS 459/559. Multicultural Considerations in Communication
Disorders (3 hours)
Students will obtain knowledge and understanding of how the cultural and linguistic diversity of clients affect communication. Appropriate assessment procedures and intervention strategies will be discussed.
Prerequisites: SHS 428 or 528, SHS 430 or 530

SHS 500. Clinical Practice (3 hours, maximum of 18 hours)
Practicum assignment and seminars covering topics and skills in clinical practice. Assigments and seminar topics vary from semester to semester.
Prerequisites: SHS 458 or 558 or permission of instructor
