My Job

Even more career change! In September 2008 I will become the Director of Collections and Acquisitions Services at UNM Libraries. It's going to be interesting. UNM is a bit larger and has a greater scope than USU. Bigger stage.

CAREER CHANGE, baby! I spent many years as a humanities librarian, but I've clawed my way to the top! Now I am head of collection development at Utah State University Libraries (real title: Collection Development & Management Librarian). Basically, that means I coordinate all of our collection activities, supervise the collection development work of about 25 subject librarians, and try to give the libraries some vision and leadership as regards its collections. We've moved into a new library. What fun!

One of my other duties is to serve as a subject librarian for the Department of Languages, Philosophy & Speech Communication. (Whew! That's a mouthful!) I just couldn't give that subject librarian stuff up.

My previous job was English Literature Librarian at the University of Tennessee, where my duties were:
