For April 28
No Friday class-blog comment required.
--Presentations on April 28 by Shay/Sergio; Justin; Sam. Anyone else?
--Below I replicate the agreed-upon grading plan. You should begin working on
the following— and we’ll discuss expectations more fully in class:
1. Portfolio: Begin choosing posts from your own blog that showcase the arts of blogging. Prepare to discuss these arts in terms of the selected post. This work overlaps or coincides with the final exam questions we’ve been trying out.
2. Portfolio: Choose your 5 best post titles.
3. Begin perusing class blogs in order to nominate 3 “best of class” posts and 3 “best of class” post titles. Prepare to argue for why these are noteworthy, and choose from at least 3 different blogs.
4. Editing your blog. Editing includes verbal typos and style, arrangement of elements on the screen (e.g., do you really want all of those feeds and where are they best placed?), text/background readability, image sizing, font choice and sizing, text alignments, image sizing.
Note: I am not suggesting that you redesign your blog! –only that you cast your critical eye over the entire project and make reasonable alternations as needed. Some blogs need more work than others—so you decide and consider the individual feedback I’ve been giving you recently.
Note: You WILL want to edit very closely the specific posts you choose to showcase in your portfolio.
5. Are you up to speed with your commenting (on your groupmates’ blogs)?
