Creating a Banner Image with Photoshop:

1. The first step in creating an image for a banner is coming up with a basic idea for the design. I chose to showcase the emerging leaders of the GOP.

2. Select the images you want (photos with black backgrounds are the easiest). Use the Magic Wand Tool in Photoshop and select the background.

3. Make sure the Wand Tool did not select any of the intended image and use the erase tool to erase the background, leaving the GOP leader.

4. Use the Move Tool to position the photo wherever you want it.

5. It is best to use a different layer for each photo so that you can move each object independently.

6. I used the Type Tool to create the text and I used a different font for ‘Change’.

7. Use the Crop Tool to cut away the extra white space and save the document as a ‘save for web’ file.

8. Upload the file in Blogger and use as header.
