Video to
Youtube to Google Maps
Step 1: Shoot video and upload from camera to your computer.
2: Edit/compress (if necessary).
3: get a youtube account
4: upload videos onto youtube (I can expand on this process too
because it can be kinda weird. YouTube isn't entirely user friendly)
5: go to maps.google.com
6: just below the google icon click 'My Maps'
7: click 'Create New Map'
8: Give the map a title and description
9:On the map itself there are three icons in the upper left hand
corner. To place a marker (which can be edited with content) click the
blue marker icon. this brings up a marker on the screen that you can
set anywhere you like.
10: Type, in the field that appears when the marker is placed, the
desired content.
11: To add the video go to where it is located on youtube and find on
the right hand column the line of code that says 'Embed'.
12: copy the code
13: Go back to your map and edit the marker. There is a little tab at
the top that will allow you to 'Edit HTML'. Click that.
14: Paste your youTube embedding code in the appropriate spot.
15: Do this for every video/marker
16: Google will save automatically with some frequency but to publish
the map you have to hit the 'Done' button in the middle of the right
hand column.
Now that the map is created:
1: in the header above the map itself there are some buttons. Hit the
'Link' button.
2: copy the code that says "Paste HTML to embed in website"
3. Log into Blogger (if not already)
4. In your compose post section (after you've typed your content of
course) there is a tab on the upper right that says 'Edit HTML'. Click
it. Now you'll see how blogger puts in <div>'s and what nots.
5. Find the desired location of the embed map and paste the code you
copied from google Maps.
6. Publish and view.
It's pretty straight forward when you get the hang of it.
