Downloading Videos

 

 

Based on my Kodak Digital Camera

 

A) Downloading Video on Computer 

   

1)    Put the USB connector or memory card into the memory reader or the USB port on the side of the computer.

 

2)    After you put your memory card or USB connector into the side of the computer, you need to click the “start” button and click the “My Computer” program.

 

3)    Once you have clicked the “My Computer” program, a new page will open, which will show a program called “Removable Disk (E:).” Click on this program.

 

4)    Next, you will see a new page that has a file called “DCIM.” Please click on this file, and you will see a file named 101_Zi6. After you click this file, you should be able to see the videos that are in your camera.

 

5)    Leave this page on the screen, and click the start button again, but this time click the “My Pictures” file.

 

6)    The “My Pictures” file should be on the screen. Now go back to the 101_Zi6 file, and scroll down to your video(s).

 

7)    Click on the video with the right side button of the mouse, and you should be able to see the menu with the copy option.

 

8)    Click the copy option and go back to the “My Pictures” file on the screen. Now, click the white background of the file with the right side button of the mouse.

 

9)    Once you have clicked the right button on the mouse, you should be able to see the paste option on the menu. Click on this option, and the computer should be downloading the video on “My Pictures.”

 

 

Based On My YouTube Account

 

B) Downloading Video on YouTube

 

1)    First, you need to go to http://www.youtube.com/ in order to download your video. You also need to create an account on YouTube.

 

2)    Once you have created an account, you should be able to log in and be lead to your site on YouTube. On your site, you should be able to see a yellow button labeled Upload. Click on this button.

 

3)    Next, you will see a box that has a button inside that is labeled “Browse.” Click on this button.

 

4)    After you click the “Browse” button, you will be lead to a menu with many features. In this Menu, you will see a button labeled “My Documents.” Click on this button.

 

5)    Once you have clicked the “My Documents” program, you will see a file named “My Pictures” in the upper left corner of the white background. Click twice on this file.

 

6)    You should be able to see the video that you pasted on this file in the white background. Once you scroll down and find that video, click on it, and click the “open” button on the bottom of the menu. 

 

7)    Next, click the “Upload Video” button in the middle of the screen. The video should be uploading on the site and giving you options for the video.

 

8)    One of the options that you need to check is the “Privacy Option.” The site gives the option of letting the world see your video or letting only twenty five people view your video. If you want to put your video on one of your posts, you need to click the option that lets the whole world see your video.

 

9)    There is also a title, tag, and allowing comments option for the video. You can decide which options best fit your video.

 

        10) Finally, click the “Save Changes” button at the bottom the box,  

              and wait for the video to upload.    

 

 

C)  Adding YouTube Videos on a Blog Post

             

1)    Once the video is downloaded on YouTube, you need to put your mouse over the account name that is in bold letters. A list of option will show underneath the account name. One of those options is “My Video.” Please click on this category.

 

2)    By clicking on this category, you will be lead to a page that displays all your videos. Now, click on video that you have uploaded.  

 

3)    After you click the video, a new page will open and start playing your video. Leave this page up and open a new page on Internet Explorer or any internet connection site.

 

4)    On this page, you need to go to the post that you are editing or going to create in your blog.  

 

5)    Once you are at your post, you need to minimize this page on the screen.

 

6)    Next, you need to go back to the YouTube page that is playing your video. On the right side of this page, you will see two boxes with written text in it. On the left side of one of these boxes, you will see a label titled Embed. You need to copy the text in the box that has the Embed title on the left side.

 

7)    Now, you need to paste this text in the post. Paste the text in the area you want the video to show on your blog. (If the pasting does not put the whole text on the post, you can open a word file and paste it on a document. The text should completely show up on the document. Once the text has been pasted on the document, select the text again and use the copy feature. Now, go back to your post. You should be able to place the whole text in the post.)

8)    Finally, you can publish your post, and the video should show up in the post.

 

 

D) Another Way to Add a Video on a Post

 

1)    Another way to add your video on a post is by using the video feature on the post. Once you have your video loaded on “My Pictures”, you can go to the post that you are going to create or edit.

 

2)    Once you are at your post, you need to go to the tool bar above the white background. In this tool bar, you should be able to see a button that has a film strip as a symbol. Click on this button.

 

3)    After you click the button on the tool bar, a small page will show up on the screen. You will see a button inside the box that is labeled “Browse.” Click on this button.

 

4)    Once you click the “Browse” button, you will be lead to a menu with many features. In this Menu, you will see a button labeled “My Documents.” Click on this button.

 

5)    After you have clicked the “My Document” button, you will see a file named “My Picture” in the upper left corner of the white background. Click twice on this file.

 

6)    You should be able to see the video that you pasted on this file in the white background. Once you scroll down and find that video, click on it and click the “open” button on the bottom of the menu.

 

7)    Now, you will be directed back to the small page. You need to put a title in the box that is labeled “Video Title.”

 

8)    Next, click the little box that states that you agree to the terms and conditions of uploading.

 

9)    Finally, click the “Upload Video” button and the video will start uploading on your post. Now, you will see a video box in the post. You need to wait for the entire video to download.
