Assignment for Monday February 5

1. Respond to the blog prompt on brainstorming the autoethnography assignment (see below for full text). Do as many responses as you collectively find appropriate.
2. Read Johndan Johnson-Eilola’s Datacloud through chapter 4. (You can read the whole thing over the weekend if you want, as we’ll finish up on Wednesday.) Prepare some questions and observations to ask in class. We’ll skip the blog response for Monday.
3. Check out the following 2 websites

2. Anne Wysocki’s award-winning digital article “A Bookling Monument” (Wysocki is a professor at Michigan Technological University specializing in digital media. We’ll look at some of her innovative courses later on.) Note: You have to have Shockwave to read this article; you have to be persistent (patient) in figuring out the navigational devices—which are intended to be counterintuitive and surprising—definitely not what we teach as good practice.

SO: if nothing happens and you get frustrated, just stop and close down; I’ll try to make it work in class. She’s violating conventions on purpose, and this should ring a bell. The article also has cyborg/body stuff in it somewhere.
