    Important Note About U.S. Passports

In the past U.S. citizens have been able to travel to Canada, Mexico, Panama and some parts of the Caribbean and return without needing a valid U.S. passport. That is about to change. In the future, every U.S. citizen who leaves the country will be required to have a U.S. passport to come back into the United States.
For more information, check the U.S. State Department web site.
