African Field History Experience , Ghana , West Africa
A three week educational tour visiting chiefs, slave castles, universities, villages, the king's palace, WEB Dubois Research Center , and much more. Three undergraduate or graduate UNM credits available.

Architecture Summer Program, Switzerland
Designed for architecture, planning and landscape architecture students. Students stay in a hill town villa above Lake Lugano, and travel throught the European metropolis and countryside. Art History, Copan, Honduras
An intensive program in art history, museum studies, archeology, Spanish language and Honduras culture. Study and help conserve the ancient Mayan city of Copan, and earn 6 UNM undergraduate or graduate credits. Caminito Study Abroad Program, Buenos Aires, Argentina
Culture and language study with UNM professors hosted by the Universidad de Palermo. Courses include intensive Spanish language, Argentine literature, culture, politics, economics and society. Includes excursions, tours, Tango classes and cultural activities.

Conexiones, Morelia, Mexico
An intensive program of Spanish language and cultural study features UNM course work, excursions, and homestays with Mexican families. Summer Course in Cuba
A new 10-week summer program in Cuba that allows UNM undergraduate and graduate students to earn 9-12 credit hours toward their degrees. This unique interdisciplinary program, Latin American & Iberian Institute brings together UNM and Cuban faculty to offer opportunity for study and research at Casa de las Americas and other leading institutions for advanced studies in Cuba, as well as for experiential learning through field trips to historical sites, cultural centers, schools, clinics, museums and performances. Students will be able to enroll in required and elective courses for their majors through cross-listed courses (course numbers forthcoming) in Latin American Studies, Spanish and Portuguese, History, Sociology, Political Science, Art History, Economics, Education, and Public Health. Summer Law Institute, Guanajuato, Mexico
For law, graduate and professional students, classes are offered in International and Comparative Law, hosted by the University of Guanajuato. Introduction to Mexican Traditional Medicine, Oaxaca, Mexico
Spanish instruction and study of views of health, wellness, and disability from different cultural perspectives. Students will participate in discussions, lectures, seminars, field trips, intensive Spanish study, and traditional healing experiences including the special Temazcal (steam bath) and a limpia (traditional cleansing ceremony.) UNM Rome Program

A four-week, intensive program in art, art history, Italian language and culture. Students will gain first-hand practical experience with artistic and cultural monuments. The curriculum consists of Art History, Studio and Italian language courses. Students have the option of taking independent study with UNM Rome Program Director Paul Anderson and other Rome Program instructors, who have extensive experience in Europe and familiarity with Rome. Considerable class time will be spent on site studying original works of art and architecture in and around Rome. On weekends, students will travel to such ancient cities as Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Ostia Antica, as well as the Medieval and Renaissance centers of Florence, Siena, and Assisi. Students will be registered through The University of New Mexico, and will receive university credits. Shakespeare in London
UNM English Professor Barry Gaines will offer English 352/582: Shakespeare and English 487/587. Undergraduate and graduate students can take the courses paying UNM tuition and receiving UNM credit, all the while living at the University of Westminster in central London and attending numerous theatre productions in the greatest theatre city of the English-speaking world. Spanish Language Programs in Mexico and Spain
Short-term sessions available all summer. Study intensive Spanish at any level at an intensive language school with optional homestays, excursions, volunteer opportunities, and much more. Programs available in Mexico in Cuernavaca, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Taxco or Xalapa, or in Granada, Spain. Some schools offer college credit.
