Ten Things About HTML

In the title page we will look at theses questions.
What is HTML?
What are Tags?
Is this really programming?
Is it difficult? (Take an easy pre-test and see!)

Target audience
The student has been using a tool like Dreamweaver or Nescape Composer and has noticed the HTML code it writes. They have visited other sites and have looked at other peoples code with View>Source Code. They have their own web page and they want to understand this underlying code in order to fine tune it, or understand what has happened when they do not get exactly what they want from the authoring tool. The basic codes are not as difficult as they might think.
Prerequisites
They have a web browser and have used it.
They have an autoring tool like Dreamweaver and can look at the code produced.
They have visited sites on the web.
They want a beginers knowledge of HTML.

Topics covered
Simple Tags and their use. Description, Code, and visual effect.
Quizes to test and remediate. (See pre-test)

The HTML tag
Text and Formating.
Graphic Images
Hyperlinks inside a page and to other pages
Forms(You can e-mail them to yourself)
Text Input Lines
Text Areas(Multiple Lines)
Buttons
CheckBox
Radio Button
What else is there to learn after this basic intro?

The types of questions will be mostly matching. With each group of questions there will be self updating feedback of the # Correct, # Tried, and the percent of total points achieved so far. This is a way to cheat and give them immediate feedback on a queation by question basis.(see pre-test) I may attempt some code fill-in, if I can give them immediate visual results. This will be my attempt at exploration.

Remediation will show all correct answers to quizes and review the appropriate lesson pages. I have not decided yet on retesting.
