We’re very excited about our move to expanded facilities!
Renovation of our new home is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2007 and renovation costs are estimated at $3 million.
The state and the university have earmarked $1.5 million for the project.
Tamarind must raise $1.5 million through a capital campaign.

Tamarind Institute has been recognized internationally for nearly five decades
as the leading authority in the field of fine-art lithography.

* Tamarind’s unique educational program offers the highest level of professional training for collaborative printers who come from around the world to study at Tamarind.

*  Thousands of well-known and emerging contemporary artists, working in collaboration with Tamarind printers, have created an extraordinary body of prints that have been exhibited in more than fifty countries and are included in the collections of major museums throughout the world.

*   Tamarind is an active participant in the community. Ongoing projects integrate artistic and social goals in cooperation with organizations such as the Albuquerque Public Schools, Working Classroom, Senior Centers, Healthcare for the Homeless, Albuquerque Public Art Program, the Hispanic Cultural Center, and the Albuquerque Museum.

*  Tamarind has a successful history of grant funding from national and local organizations and has received numerous awards in recognition of service, including the Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts.

*  The institute’s technical and historical research has been published extensively. The Tamarind Book of Lithography, a complete technical resource, is used by students, artists, and printers.  A new edition will be published by Harry Abrams Publishing, Inc. (New York) in 2008.

“I see my Tamarind experience as one of the most meaningful ones in my life.
I use the discipline I learned there every day, in my art life and in my regular life.”

-Elizabeth Jordan, Tamarind graduate

This is the time to give generously to an organization that has helped foster printmaking
around the world for nearly five decades.
