Activity 1: Improving Teaching and Learning through Faculty Technology Training

  • Both Valencia and Los Alamos have done extremely well in this area, having trained 83% of full-time and 51% of adjunct faculty. 
  • Sixty-three faculty members attended one day conferences on technology held at the campuses.
  • We have implemented a number of technology programs including “clickers”, podcasting, video lecture recording, and student review games (located at http://vcgames.unm.edu) to bring technology into the classroom.
  • Valencia was able to use the technology in place to display the graduation ceremony on a large screen for family members to see their graduate from all locations in the room.
  • Najib Manea, PhD, Program Manager, presented at conferences on the use of technology in the classroom.
  • Valencia and Los Alamos Campuses have introduced Classroom/Lecture Capture systems to enhance the students learning when not in an actual classroom.

Activity 2: Improving Student Advisement through Electronic Degree Audit

  • Los Alamos campus has the Degree Audit system in place and is on target to have 100% of students using the system.

Activity 3: Improving Assessment through Institutional Research

  • The Los Alamos Management Information System is fully in use .
