The UNM-Valencia Teaching & Learning Center is located in the heart of the campus in the Learning Resource Center. We seek to enhance teaching and learning, improve student and faculty success and stimulate instructional effectiveness. Please come by and see us whenever you get the chance and see for yourself all that the Teaching & Learning Center has to offer!
Support
The TLC is located in Room 138 and 139 of the LRC. We are open Monday-Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Friday 8:00 AM until 12:00 pm. We offer pager support until 7:00 PM Monday through Thursday and are available for weekend support with advanced notice.
Development
We offer many workshops in a wide range of instruction including computer software, Microsoft Office, Audio and Visual Equipment, Classroom Management and much more. We also offer to the staff and faculty a variety of Teaching Resources including a specialty equipment checkout, private teaching library, and anything else instructors might need.
Strategy
The Center hosts a variety of faculty workshops and seminars and offers a wide range of instructional resources. Our main goal is to provide the campus all it needs to strive at its best. We have an excellent staff that works directly with the staff and faculty and we are always looking for ways to improve teaching methods for stronger student success.

Workshops- We train staff and faculty with a variety of workshops that pertain to teaching and learning purposes. Some example workshops include, computer software, Microsoft Office, Audio and Visual Equipment, and Classroom Management. To view available workshops click here. We offer them on different times and days throughout the semester, call ahead of time or view our Calendar of Events to see when we will be offering them.

Specialized Equipment- We checkout specialized equipment that the staff and faculty can obtain anytime they need to. A few examples include portable laptop computers that are great for traveling or on the go and portable projectors that are great for giving demonstrations or providing visual data in a meeting. We also have high quality digital cameras, notebook cases, television sets along with DVD and VHS players.

Troubleshooting- We are great at troubleshooting any problem you might have and will be eager to fix it. Come by our office or call us and we'll find you a pleasing solution to your problem.

Library- We have a small library of books that are designed to help staff and faculty with learning purposes in almost every subject: Anywhere from classroom management and psychology of learning to helpful writing techniques and better student performance.

Scanning- We are able to scan documents for all staff and faculty. If you have an old picture or book you would like to save onto the computer come by.

CD/DVD's Copier- We're able to create numerous copies of CD's/DVD's for you anytime you need. We have specialized equipment that make it easy to create up to 25 CD's at once.

Recording Programs on TV- If you know that there is a great documentation or show that will be useful to learning new material be sure to let us know. We are able to record it for you and edit out all commercials. Just provide us with the local date, local time and channel the program will be on and we will do the rest. Slide converter- We have a Nikon CoolScan V-ED that converts old slides to JPEGS. If you're tired of your old slides come by and transfer them all to one disk that makes them simple to use and easy to carry. The Cool Scan Converter doesn't distort your slides in any way and makes audience viewing much more enjoyable.
