Welcome to the University of New Mexico - Valencia Campus Learning Center

We hope you will spend many productive hours with us while you are enrolled on campus.  This is the students' place, a place where you can study in a quiet room, engage in the dynamics of a study group, write your papers or develop spreadsheets, work with a tutor, or take advantage of computer assisted instructional software and other study resources.

Mission and Vision

The Learning Center is committed to the development of independent learners who assume responsibility for their education.

The Learning Center will contribute to the retention of students by facilitating student learning and to assist students in their academic achievement by the development of self-efficacy through forming attributes that sustain learning.

  This mission is accomplished by:

• Peer and professional tutors trained to recognize and accommodate diverse learning styles
• Workshops and seminars on basic skills, goal setting, learning strategies, and time management;
• Course specific study groups and reviews.
