As you begin your educational career at UNM, it is essential to become familiar with the academic advisement process. All students are expected to become partners with their advisors as they map out the path they will follow to successfully complete core requirements, apply to a degree granting college, and graduate with a Bachelor’s degree.

Possible suspension cases are carefully reviewed by a panel of experts. While mistakes are possible, serious errors in interpretation and judgment are unlikely. Therefore, SUCCESSFUL SUSPENSION APPEALS ARE RARE! Students are suspended because, if they continue their current pattern, they will be unable to graduate (this requires a minimum GPA of 2.0). Suspension is designed to alert students to the fact that they are in serious, long-term academic difficulties and to give students time to effect the radical changes you will need to make in order to succeed.
