Places

Why would I refer a student to these places?

  • Center for Academic Program Support (CAPS): CAPS provides free tutoring for students, including multiple locations, subjects, foreign language discussion groups, and an online writing lab (among many other great resources!)
  • Student Health & Counseling (SHAC): SHAC provides low-cost services to students, including specialist visits, lab tests, same-day appointments, and a pharmacy.
  • Enrollment Services (a.k.a. One Stop): This is a one-stop shop for students who have questions about Admissions, Registration, Financial Aid, Scholarships, etc.
  • Student Activities Center (SAC): Did you know there are more than 400 student organizations on campus? From Lobo Spirit to student government to the mid-week movie series, you can go here for more information. Can’t find what you want? The SAC can also help students create their own student organization!
  • Student Housing: Students can find out more about living on campus, the different dorm styles available, etc.
  • Parking & Transportation Services (PATS): PATS knows all about transportation – whether a student needs a bus sticker for the Lobo ID, would like to rent a Zipcar, needs to purchase a parking pass, or pay a parking citation.
  • Scholarships: While this one seems self-explanatory, many students don’t know that there is a general scholarship pool that they can apply to every year for additional scholarships.
  • Career Services: Career Services provides help with resumes and cover letters, as well as placement in internships and jobs. They will host several career fairs throughout the year.
  • Multiple Academic Pathways for Students (MAPS): provides information for academic services, social activities, cultural activities, and health and wellness for students.
  • Veteran’s Resource Center, El Centro de la Raza, African American Student Services (AASS), American Indian Student Services (AISS), the Women’s Resource Center, and LGBTQ Resource Center: provide resources and support both for specialized groups of students, as well as for all students at UNM.
