Dr. Finnie Coleman, Director of African American Studies as the Interim Dean for University College effective January 2, 2008.
He will work closely with Dean Peter White to make the transition a smooth one after the winter break. Dr. Coleman brings a comprehensive knowledge base to higher education affairs; especially in undergraduate academic programs, plus a diverse and strong administrative experience to the leadership role in University College. Dr. Coleman will continue to build upon the excellent programs and initiatives implemented by Dean White, faculty, and professional staff working directly in University College or in other disciplines across the University.
Blue Sheet Seminars

Explore Major Fair

The Explore Major Fair is for any student who may be undecided or thinking about changing their major. This is an excellent opportunity to speak with various department advisors who can assist you with the necessary pre-requisites for getting accepted to their college. Research Quest Day

Research Quest Day: University College is pleased to present a new initiative entitled, Research Quest Day. This event is geared to display the works of primarily freshmen and students involved with the Research Service Learning Programs, Freshmen Academic Choices: FIG, FLC, LLC and FISC. This event takes place during the first or second week in November, is on a smaller scale and encourages freshmen to participate as an invaluable learning experience, as they begin their academic journey at UNM.

UNM Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference
April 1, 2008 from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM at The SUB
NM Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference is an annual celebration of UNM students work organized by University College. The UNM Undergraduate Research and Creativity Conference invite undergraduate students from all majors to participate. Project eligibility is open-ended and accommodates a wide spectrum of student work: from first-semester freshmen to seniors completing honors theses. Collaboration with various UNM research programs is strongly encouraged and includes: The Ronald McNair Scholar Program, Profound and WISE (Women In Science and Engineering) to name a few. The event is free and open to the public. The UNM Undergraduate Research / Creativity Conference is held in the Spring semester (in the month of April) in the Student Union Building.
