November 5, 2012
Hello,
These are the current affairs occurring at The University Advisement Center (UAC) this week.
Last Day to Drop Without Dean’s Permission
This Friday, November 9, 2012, will be the last day for students to drop a course and still be eligible to receive a Withdrawal (W) without the dean’s permission. Students should remember that a W does not affect their GPA or produce credit hours. It is the student’s responsibility to drop a course within LoboWeb. Grades of W’s will be entered on students’ records at the end of the appropriate semester. After the November 9th deadline, students must get permission to drop a course.
Searching for Late Starting Courses
Students can currently register for Late Starting classes and will find them in LoboWeb under the Fall 2012 term. Here the steps to follow once in LoboWeb:
Students may also use http://schedule.unm.edu/ to search for Late Starting Courses:
Please remember to check the campus in which certain Late Starting Courses are being offered. These classes are the same cost as other sections for the semester. There may not be additional tuition charges, depending on the number of credit hours in which students are enrolled. For more information on how enrolling in these sections will affect students’ bill, please contact the Bursar's Office at 277-5363.
Workshops on the LOBO Trax Course Planner
UAC is offering workshops on how to use the Lobo Trax Course Planner every Friday afternoon from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Casas Del Rio. We are requiring you to place all your Spring 2013 courses in your planner before visiting your advisor. This will be a hands-on and drop-in workshop that will help you learn how to use this valuable tool.
American Indian Heritage Month
Various social, cultural, and artistic programming is available the month of November in order to engage the UNM community in learning more about Indigenous heritage. A complete a list of the public and free events throughout the month of November is available at the American Indian Student Services website. For additional information, call (505) 277-6343 or e-mail aiss@unm.edu.
